Designed in the Gothic style, it is located at the corner of Harrison Avenue and East Concord Street near today’s 770 Harrison Avenue. Established in 1864, the institution is governed by a group of laymen, including publisher Patrick Donahoe, and operated by the Sisters of Charity.
